SEARCH

In addition to the mainline structure, there are two additional bridge structures proposed for this project: There is a pedestrian path that runs along the east side of the corridor and crosses over the Hillsboro Canal; there is also a ramp alignment for southbound traffic coming from Dixie Highway entering the Deerfield Beach central business district that also crosses over the canal. This ramp alignment will preserve local access from the north to the downtown Deerfield Beach Central Business District, Pioneer Park and local residences and businesses.

Local roadway reconstruction is also a part of the project. NE 2nd  Street will be improved to accommodate the proposed drainage system and to meet the required geometry at the FEC Railway crossing. North River Avenue will be reconstructed to tie into NE 1st Avenue and to relocate the facility out of the existing FEC right-of-way. NE 1st Avenue will be reconstructed to accommodate the proposed drainage system and provide additional pedestrian facilities.
